Rebecca Njord, MSc, MSN, WHNP-BC, CNM

Rebecca is dually-licensed as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife. Rebecca is passionate about women's healthcare including primary care, pregnancy, menopause and beyond. She provides full-scope midwifery care which includes both obstetrics and gynecology.  As a midwife, Rebecca is proud to offer women's healthcare that is patient-centered, evidence-based and comprehensive.  Her philosophy of care is to draw on her clinical, public health and nursing experience to provide holistic, whole-woman care; enabling women to reach beyond the typical 'annual exams' and increase their health in all aspects of their lives.

Rebecca completed her initial nursing education at Duke University and her advanced-practice training at the University of Pennsylvania.  Prior to becoming a Midwife and Nurse Practitioner, Rebecca worked in public health for many years and holds a Master's in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.  She spent several years working in public health focusing on infectious diseases, vulnerable populations and the care of women and children.  She enjoyed her time in public health and had the opportunity to conduct research, publish several articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and work on large population-level policies and laws.  However, her experiences eventually led her to the bedside and the perfect home- Midwifery; a combination of nearly all her passions- public health, infections, clinical medicine, politics and most importantly, empowering women.

A native of Las Vegas, Nevada Rebecca has spent time in Utah, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, London, Hawaii, Taiwan and the Philippines. She and her husband love living near the beach, and enjoy paddle boarding and all things ocean related. When not catching babies, you can find her scuba diving, painting, gardening and spending time with her cats- Scooter the Water Cat and Luna the Loyal. Rebecca is fluent in Mandarin, Chinese, speaks a bit of Spanish and provides care in both the Lewes and Georgetown offices. She holds clinical privileges at Beebe Hospital.
